About the sculpture
The Second Home series features ‘house’ blocks of varying blue-green colours drawn from the palette of historic celadon wares. Each block is formed entirely from a custom-developed, glaze-based material which mimics the behaviour of clay while maintaining a glassy, semi-translucent quality. This technique allows celadon glaze to be made into ‘jade’ blocks, refl ecting celadon’s origins as an imitation of jade.
