Satirical drawing by A.S. Boyd entitled 'The Advance of Dramatic Woman: Discomfiture of John a Dreams and The New Boy'. It depicts a group of women holding placards with play titles written on them, while two men stand in the background. The drawing satirises the number of late 19th century plays that focused on women, outnumbering the plays about men.
