About the work

Drawing of Lydia Lopokova and partner by Duncan Grant, ca. 1920. Grant made many drawings of Lopokova for whom he also designed a number of costumes and productions. It is impossible to identify a dance in this drawing and as her hair is just drawn back with no headdress it is likely to have been sketched in rehearsal.
