May one see it?
London, United Kingdom
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
This drawing showing dancers of Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes performing on stage, watched by other dancers and stage hands from the wings. A central feature is a free-standing light which helps to pick out the dancers in performance. Annotations on the reverse indicate the colours of the scene. Ethelbert White (1891-1972) was given access to draw backstage when contributing to souvenirs and publications produced by the writer and publisher, Cyril Beaumont.
