This drawing is the illustration for the endpapers for the book Clara Button and the Magical Hat Day by Amy de la Haye and illustrated by Emily Sutton. The book is set in the Victoria and Albert Museum and was published in 2011. The final endpapers were printed in a muted red rather than in black.
Emily Sutton was born in Yorkshire and graduated with a B.A.(Hons.) in Illustration from Edinburgh College of Art in 2008. She specialises in illustration of children's books and draws her inspiration from 20th century illustrators and the tradition of folk art.
