The figure represents the Swedish ballerina Ebon Strandin (1894-1977). Strandin trained at the Royal Swedish Ballet and joined the company beoming a premieredancer in 1915 having worked with Mikhail Fokine during his seasons there and danced in Scheherazade and Carnaval. She was also an operatic mezzo-soprano and and actress who appeared in a number of silent films.
The figurine which was cast in bronze by the Herman Bergman Foundry was previously erroniously identified as Anna Pavlova.
