May one see it?
London, United Kingdom
The owner is known. Whether it is on view today, the museum does not say, and we were not trained to guess.
This figure representing Flora, together with related figures A.8, 10 and 11-1947, was presented to the museum by Lord Wimbourne when he left Wimbourne House in Arlington Street, London, where the four statues had been displayed in niches in the dining room. They had been bought from A. Strom at 23, Rue Saint-Lazare, Paris, in 1919, where they had been attributed to the French sculptor, René Frémin (1672-1744), but there seemed to be no information about provenance.
