In November 1844 the artist arrived in Saint Petersburg for the third time; in May 1845 he returned to Berlin.

Two Weeks in Paris: Visit to Delacroix
In 1846 Krüger spent two weeks in Paris, where he visited the studio of Eugène Delacroix.
July – September 1847
Fourth Visit to Saint Petersburg
In July 1847 Krüger arrived in Saint Petersburg for the fourth time to repair damage to four portraits of the sons of Nicholas I; he left in September, having received a commission for the painting "Parade in Potsdam."
1848
Depression in the Year of Revolution; Departure for Dessau
During the Revolution of 1848 Krüger suffered a severe depression and left Berlin. In Dessau he completed the painting "Parade in Potsdam."
