About the sculpture

Cats were Du Meng’s faithful companions throughout her the challenging days of the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite the restrictions of lockdown, she found stimulation in observing the changing seasons she shared with her feline friends. Inspired by this intimate bond, Du crafted cat figures in clear ‘helmets’ containing plants and flowers, which reveal an imaginative, blossoming inner world.
