May one see it?
London, United Kingdom
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
This portrait in coloured wax shows a man nearly full face with short powdered and curly hair. He wears a red coat with gilt buttons and a high turn over collar over a waistcoat of yellow striped with pink with a high folded neck band and a ruffled shirt. The sitter is identified as Samuel Percy, the celebrated eighteenth century wax sculptor according to the family tradition of the donor. The portrait is in an oval gilded frame and the background, curtain and drapery below the wax are of dark green silk.
