London, United Kingdom
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
This stone statue represents St John the Baptist. He stands with the right knee slightly bent, the head with thick curling hair, beard and moustaches, being turned slightly to his left. He wears a sleeved skin-coat girt at the waist; his legs and feet are bare. The right hand a left forearm are lost, but pm the left breast is part of a support. There is a low plinth of irregular shape, and in the middles of the back is fixed an iron stanchion.
