May one see it?
London, United Kingdom
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
This stone relief is made by an unknown artist in Britain in ca. 1910-1920. The emblem on the relief is derived from the regimental badge of the Black Walsh, the Royal Highland Regiment, which includes the figure of St Andrew. The motto - which refers to the thistle - is taken directly from the regimental badge. Scotland's Black Watch is an elite military regiment whose history stretches back almost three centuries.
