May one see it?
London, United Kingdom
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
This and the companion bust (V&A mus. no. A.8-1963) are probably made by a follower of the English sculptor John Bushnell (d. 1712). They were probably made as model for marble versions for a church monument. The age difference apparent in the sitters suggests that the busts may represent a father and a son, the present bust being the father.
