The Painting "The Guardroom"
He created The Guardroom (Hermitage) — the battle in the background echoes the victories of Francisco de Melo over the French forces, which averted the threat to Antwerp.

The Guild of St. George (Oude Voetboog) commissioned from Teniers a group portrait of the city militiamen — his first major commissioned work (now in the Hermitage).
