In Russia between 1795 and 1799 she painted the last Polish king, Stanisław Poniatowski, Grand Duchess Anna Feodorovna, wife of Grand Duke Konstantin Pavlovich, and other members of the imperial family.

Catherine II is displeased with the portrait of her granddaughters
Despite her success in aristocratic circles, the mannered quality of her painting displeased Catherine II, a champion of “romantic classicism in the Roman manner”: in a letter to Baron Grimm the Empress protested that the artist had shown her granddaughters, the grand duchesses, in “monkey poses”.
