The 'G-Plan' furniture range, designed by Leslie Dandy and manufactured by E. Gomme and Sons Ltd., High Wycombe, was one of the first attempts in Britain to establish a readily available post-war style. Dandy developed the simple, modern forms of Utility into a more comfortable and stylish range of well-furniture. By the early 1960s, however, the influence of American styling can be seen in this design for a setting for a 'G-Plan' settee and easy chair, which was probably rendered by a member of Dandy's design studio. It gives a light and lively impression of how a room could look containing this new, sleek-lined furniture.
