About the sculpture
This stucco panel, representing the Virgin and Child is in the style of Donatello and made in Florence in the 15th century.
The Virgin and Child are shown before a niche. The Child stands on a parapet with his right arm extended and his left arm around the neck of the Virgin, who supports him with her left hand.
