The Wazir Khan mosque was built in the period 1634-1641 by a physician called Hakim Ala al-Din Ansari of Chiniot, who was widely known as Wazir Khan. He became governor of the Punjab during Shah Jahan’s reign (1628-1658). The mosque is famed for its intricate tile work on the exterior and the ornate and highly detailed frescoes in the interior.
This detailed drawing is by Mohammed Din who was trained at the Lahore School of Art. His monogram is in the bottom right hand side of the drawing.
