Triumph of the "Parade in Berlin" at the Academy Exhibition
In 1830 the "Parade in Berlin" was shown to enormous acclaim at the academy exhibition in Berlin.

The "Parade in Berlin" at the Winter Palace
In February 1831 the "Parade in Berlin" was exhibited in the Concert Hall of the Winter Palace. With the fee the artist bought a house in Berlin (Behrenstrasse 63), where he lived for the rest of his life; he was elected an honorary free associate of the Imperial Academy of Arts.

First Visit to Saint Petersburg
In June 1831 Krüger arrived in Saint Petersburg to work on portraits for the Military Gallery of the Winter Palace, including portraits of Guards officers that astonished viewers with their likeness and the accuracy of the uniforms and decorations.

Vasily Zhukovsky in Krüger's Studio
In May 1833 Krüger returned to Berlin with sketches for the commissioned portraits; in August his studio was visited for the first time by Vasily Zhukovsky.
