About the sculpture

The arms on this relief are those of Fray Francisco de Boxols, a Knight of the Order of St John of Jerusalem and the dates 1484, 1485 and 1486 are those of his second command of the Castle of St. Peter which was built by the Rhodian Knights on the mainland at Budrum, the ancient Helicarnassus. The slab almost certainly came from this castle.
